A Lakeside View

Here we are at Toledo Bend just chilling out for the most part. Today, however, we tooled around the south end of the lake to see what’s available.

After an hour and a half, I asked Dave to stop just long enough for me to walk a bit because sitting that long makes my back stiffen up and I have a harder time walking.

We located an area with a boat launch across the Six-Mile Bridge. I took the featured photo there. I don’t know about the rest of the lake, but I thought this area was pretty to look at, with the trees hanging on to their fall colors a bit longer.

We drove on after that, I didn’t take any pics while out looking, but Dave took pics of some of the for-sale signs to better read the phone numbers. When our friend, Robert comes down to help us, we want to have a selection of FSBO homes that he may not know about. Real estate agents and brokers usually have access to only MLS listings.

Later, when we got back, I took a couple of pics of the lake here at the RV Park. Even though this park is a work in progress, the views are nice around the lake.

Our spot.

As we look for a place to retire some day, my viewpoint is if I can’t be right on the water, I’d like to at least have a view of it. We’ve already changed our mind about living at the coast, so I want to at least see some water. Dave said he didn’t care as long as we were near the lake. It depends-I guess-on the looks of the house and property for me to change my mind.

Here is another view.

I walked a little bit down the road from our site to take this picture. I was actually walking Whiskey when I nabbed this one. She is a lot more patient with my picture taking breaks than Miss Brandy. She wants to be on the move at all times.

Except when we’re at the vet. Then they were “mean” to her, giving several shots, taking her blood, and shooting something in her mouth. She got so upset she sharted on the table. Poor baby. You should see me trying to give her the Benadryl they prescribed. 🙄 Luckily, the arthritis medication is tiny and chewable, so she takes that one fine.

The very next day, we are driving hundreds of miles to this destination but maybe it made her feel better to sleep after her rough day.

More to come!

  1. Aww, I hope the puppy baby feels better soon. They’re so adorable. I hate when they give Jernee that Bordetella (the one they shoot in the mouth). She always tries to breathe it in and nearly chokes.

Good luck house hunting! Hopefully, you both will get what you really want!

    1. Thank you, we have lots of promising places but it will be up to Dave because he has to have room to put the motor home. We have many areas to look at yet!
