The Sunday Message

This morning’s message again n could mes from online services at Beacon Baptist in Florida. I like Pastor Blalock’s way of delivering the message.

Its based on 1Peter 4:1-8

When you read the verses, you’ll see that he is talking about our lives after Christ. We’ve spent enough time in our old lives, with our old bad habits. It’s time to devote the remainder of our lives to God.

You are changeable.

Now that you are saved you are no longer ignorant of the truth, therefore, leave the old life behind. You are filled with the Holy Spirit no, you can’t go back, that would be a sin.

How do you explain men like Simon who was wild and a brute becoming the God fearing/loving man Peter? Or the awful, murderous Saul who became Paul, the greatest spreader of the Gospel?

William Murray was the son of the champion of atheism, Madeline Murray O’hair. Now he is a pastor!

God can change you but you have to make the choice! Chose to immerse yourself in his word daily, not just an hour a week. Live according to His will, not your own. Give all decisions to Him first.

I made a conscious decision to be in His word daily about three years ago. More recently, I quit vaping completely and cut alcohol use to once in a while and always with a meal. My life did change. My path got laid out before me.

Do I still suffer? Yes. But someday I won’t, because I can be sure I’m going to live with God in eternity.

The pastor said his guidance counselor told him to f he wanted to be me a minister he would have to change the things. What are they, he asked me d? She didn’t know, they are different for everyone. But when he reflected back, he realized he did make three changes.

  1. He didn’t go out with his class to the Bahamas as that was a worldly choice.
  2. He wouldn’t go to a college that wasn’t Godly.
  3. No sports. He chose to work to support himself and his family.

We are in the “final boarding” stage of our lives. Throw out your old life and embrace the AC. After Christ. He will lead you home. 🙏
