Anne and I were back to our walking after a few days off for me to rest my back.
We did our normal 2 1/2 mile walk, and I remembered to take a pic of her hanging hook for when she warms up. A sweet neighbor put it on her fence post just for her. You can’t see it, but above the hook and dragonfly is a tiny plaque bearing her name! I even used it one day.

On our way back, I also remembered to take a picture of my favorite pine tree-not sure the species- that looks like a Christmas tree with tinsel on it. Or is that my artistic impression?

She had an eye appointment today, so we chatted a short while, as we rehydrated and rested. Then I went on my way to go messing around with Dave. I told him I had only eaten a cereal bar for breakfast but he must not have heard me, because he proceeded to load the dogs in the car to go for a ride. 😏
First he stopped at the gas station/auto shop/diner combo at the corner of the street I turn on to get to Anne’s place (five minutes from our RV Park) so Dave could go grab a bulb for our blinker.
Next, I thought we were going back to Maggie Valley but that would be dumb with the dogs, so I was curious. Then he took the road up to the Blue Ridge pkwy and I just looked at him. “You know we are doing this tomorrow with Anne and David right?” He said yes but he wanted to go see a little bit today. I still don’t know why he brought the dogs. That would have been cool at the Smokey Mt. Nat. Park, but unless you get out on the pkwy at an overlook, the dogs could care less.

We didn’t go far, I mentioned again that I was hungry and it was after 1:30, so we went to find some lunch. We went past the exit to get us home and he found a Dickies BBQ, so he went in and got us each a pulled pork sandwich. We took it home and ate because again…dogs!
After we ate, we went to see the farmer’s co-op to satisfy my curiosity. Nothing I wanted there, so he went to DG and got a couple of things. I needed another long lightening cord for my iPhone, because I left one at my brother’s house. I got a 10ft cord because our outlets are few and far between on the bus.
I constantly marvel at the beauty here! Creeks and streams, trees of all varieties, the mountains, and even the wide open spaces. I love driving through the mountains and seeing where people choose to build a home. Some like the valley, some like the side of a mountain and still others prefer to be “on top of the world” and you can see many there through the cut trees. There is skiing in the winter depending on the snowfall I’m sure, but in Maggie Valley, we saw a snow machine making snow in a giant mound.
Anne told me what makes the Smoky Mts smoky. Certain trees give off a chemical reaction! Did you know that?
I took another walk around the park today. They have put out decorations for Christmas, but probably won’t light them up until after Thanksgiving and we will be gone. Boo. 😌 I’ll share those pics and what Dave and I did yesterday tomorrow. This post is long enough! 😉
Total step count so far for today is- 9593. 😮 Not bad after a weekend break! Well, we did walk a bit yesterday so stay tuned!
