Save Room for Thanks

We had a simple but delicious meal. Turkey breast, stove top stuffing, cranberry sauce, green bean casserole, and sweet potatoes (topped with molasses).

I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving dinner and had someone special to share it with.

Dave and I are lucky that we are limited by space, so we don’t over buy, we cook just enough, and we clean up quick. He even found room in the refrigerator for all the leftovers.

It all fit with room to spare!

I texted with my brother and the boys…well, two of them. Still waiting to hear from Sean, the phone works both ways ya know! I didn’t figure they needed a FaceTime since we did it so recently, and we all had good convos through texting, and pictures.

My sweet husband saw that I was a bit dismayed at the fact that we didn’t have all the ingredients for a topping for my sweet potatoes, so he suggested molasses, and it worked out well.

He is also so kind, he saw the neighboring RV owner struggling to spot clean his old (but new to him-he is going to remodel it) silver unit, so he told him to use our hose. The poor man was wetting a rag with a bottle of water!

I hope you took time to share your thanks, say what you are all thankful for, and think of our loved ones who couldn’t be with us today. It’s easy to get caught up in the moment, or bow to the stress, so if you did all of the above, I think the day was a success. ☺️

  2. Our menu was the same!! We also had a choice of baked potato or sweet potato. Dessert was pumpkin cheesecake left over from the big family celebration Saturday.

    1. I think simple is best, don’t you? We used to prepare ridiculous amounts of food that either went home with guests or sat in the fridge until we threw it out. Such waste. Now we have fewer leftovers that we pretty much finish off in the next day or two.

    1. Thank you, Dan!
As my reader hasn’t caught up with todays post, I wanted to say how I loved that your answer to the prompt was inferred rather than spelled out. Great job! You’re nice to be kind to Skippy…David is sort of rude at times. 😘

      1. Thanks Kim. David is still working the original plan for Skippy. He was created to be the idiot bartender who filled in when I didn’t want to make fun of Cheryl (‘cuz, she’s a real person, but not a bartender). People started liking Skippy. Now he has a fan club – why can’t I control my characters?

  4. Our Thanksgiving was lovely. Our kids have flown the coop, so it’s always wonderful when everyone is together at the same time. The Littles (grandkids) were so much fun, too. 🙂

  5. Reads like a perfect Southern Thanksgiving meal. We had the same and leftover plenty.
