As I sat and watched the service this morning from my brother’s church-Bear Creek Bible Church -I kept waiting for Pastor John to get to his point.
Have you ever felt like this? Like you already know what he is saying, you know its true because you have read and studied the Bible, so when he seems to be talking about one singular subject you’re thinking-”Ok, but what else?”
That is kind of how I felt about today’s verse, Colossians 1:15-20 which just expounds on the point that God is Master of everything in the Universe. Well, I knew that, I know that in my heart, what else are you trying to say?
But remember, Paul is asking them if they know and believe that Jesus is God. Despite what the false teachings may say, or despite what the non-believers may argue, that is the Gospel truth! Jesus is God!
So when you see Him, you see God. He is the architect, He is the agent, He is an audience of one!
If they ask you who made everything in the entire universe, you answer, “God did.” That is why we must protect and respect all He created.
If they still don’t believe, you can share these I Am passages from the Bible:
-”I amthe resurrection and the life. Those who believe in me will have life even if they die.” John 11:25
-”I am the one who lives; I was dead, but look, I am alive forever and ever!” Revelation 1:18
-Jesus, the One who says these things are true, says, “Look! I am coming soon.” Revelation 22:20
Jesus answered, “I tell you the truth, before Abraham was even born, I am!” John 8:58
If they still don’t believe, share your testimony that God is also an interactive God. Share how He has answered your prayers, share how he has changed your life, and ask them, “Who else can do that? It must be God!”
Explain then that once they believe, and you believe it yourself, you should not compartmentalize Him as something to “fit in your schedule” or “put on your to-do list” but make Him the priority in every aspect of your life. Your eyes stay on the prize, that prize being everlasting life in the arms of Jesus. Jesus, who is God.
Amen? Amen!!
