Happy Air Plants

Staying next to a pond is very beneficial for my little Tilly’s.

Normally, I water them once a week with tap water. Pond water works so much better because it has all the minerals and nutrients they need, especially in this very dry climate.

All the air plants I obtained in Florida sadly passed away except one that I stubbornly hang on to, praying the pond water will bring it back.

My Florida Tilly in the homemade hanger I created. It looks the same but the color has lightened ant the leaves have spread way far out…an indication it’s probably dead. But after two dips in the pond water, I swear it feels more moist. We will see.

Maybe when we move over to Dolores, we will see if river water makes them as happy!

  1. If the tap water has chlorine in it, plants aren’t going to like it nearly as much as pond water.

    1. True, I finally had to let that Florida plant go. Like I told BC, taking it off it’s host plant must have killed it.

    1. Well, it couldn’t save Florida. I finally let that one go this morning. I think taking the plant off it’s host kills it. None of my Florida plants lived that I took off Donna’s tree.
