A Brave Act

The other day I was walking and finally got brave enough to walk sideways down the steep stairs to the wide part f the river. Thesestairs were discovered while on a different walk down the river trail to see where the trail ended.

It was also a risky act, being I was alone. I was determined, however, so carefully, and slowly I made my way down. The reward was getting to an area that-had I been in a bathing suit-I could easily enter the water.

Clear water

But then, I wondered, what would I do? This river is not still. I had no floating device and I had my phone on me. No place to set anything if I slipped and went flying down the river.

Where would I come out? The is a dam of rocks further down and then the river curves around, entering the township of Dolores.

So, I sat on the bottom step and took a couple of pics of the clear water and wished was even more brave.

Standing at the bottom.

  1. Great pics. You were sensible though, especially if you didn’t know where you’d come out.

    1. On top of all that, the water is frigid! I might brave the water if it was hot like Texas here. But with high 70s-low 80s no thanks! I’m a big baby!

  6. The water looks so clear and beautiful. If someone had been with you, it would have been wonderful in the water.

I’m not sure I’d have gone it as that water is freezing!
