In A Quandry

One of my readers, followers, and friends-Anne said “Pain is hard to live with.”

Boy is she right on that one. Dealing with the VA is very frustrating because the doctors in your care don’t seem to work as a team. I have doctors in three different places, Ft Worth, Dallas, and West Palm Beach Florida.

They do not recognize each other, do not communicate with each other, and whats worse, in each place I have several doctors on my case.

Being a traveling vet is very much a problem, and as much as I want to keep living this lifestyle, the hard truth is that my healthcare will continue to suffer like this if we do.

The quandary is this. I’ve been out of all my pain-related medications for over two weeks now. They have now been ordered, but if they don’t arrive in the next 5 days, we will have moved again, delaying the process for up to a month!!

The only one managing my pain right now is me. Exercising daily, plus walking, plus microdosing with CBD/thc combos is keeping me going. I have no arthritis medicine, no nerve block medication, and no muscle relaxer (that one she made me stop for fear of interacting with my hormone.)

I’m on my own until these things are resolved. In the meantime, one department or another keeps calling and trying to set me up for even more tests and appointments when they know we wont be back in Texas until next spring.

I can only pray that these issues get resolved by Dec when we get back to Florida. Otherwise, I’ll be in the same state I was last year at that time.

I just wish I could get everyone on the same page.

    1. I don’t know what I’ll do for sure, but when we do find a forever home, it will have to be near a VA.

  2. I was amused that after listing all the states where doctors are mishandling your case, you said you’d end up in the same state as you were last year. I’m hoping they will get things RIGHT, no matter where you are.

  3. You would think that an organization that sends people all around the world – all the time – would better equipped to deal with patients moving around. I hope your meds arrive in time, and you find an answer before heading south.
