Hello and welcome to my Sunday Message post where normally, I would give my interpretation of the message I heard during my online worship service from Bear Creek Bible Church.

Today, however, my acquaintance Amanda asked me to attend her church; Beacon Baptist. It’s about a mile down the road from our RV Resort. So I did!

I was reluctant because you know how it is when you get used to your own church. Yet I’m missing that fellowship that God says we are supposed to experience, so I said “yes, I’ll go with you.”

Pastor Blalock was discussing some verses out of 2 Corinthians about why pride is sinful. He titled it The Unsung Brothers and spoke about when Paul sent Titus and a couple of other brothers in Christ to Galatia and on.

They were purposely left out because why? Why is it sinful to want fame? Because that is part of our sin nature that we were born into, and we should not give in to it. God wants us to do good things in His name, without anyone knowing necessarily that we did it. Let others say we did it, but not seek recognition for it ourselves, if that makes sense. Where we really want to see our name is in God’s book of life. If we are written there, we have nothing to worry about.

The works God wants us to do is not about us, it’s about Him. Praising Him and spreading the good news of the gospel is the calling of all brothers and sisters in Christ.

I think this message aligns with anything I might have heard at my church which made me very comfortable. I did notice that everyone was covered up in suits, dresses with jackets or sleeves, and I wore a sleeveless dress. I wasn’t uncomfortable, just a little out of place.

Again, that’s not what it’s all about. I was there and that s what counts. God knows my heart.
