Not too awful far from here, is a town and a massive lake named for said town.
On a random-drop everything and head out the door right now kind of trip-we went to visit. That day was today. I think what was said was, “Hey, you should show me where you play golf!”
Well, oddly enough, he doesn’t play golf in Okeechobee, he plays in Indiantown, which is also the name of the second road you turn on when leaving our RV resort.
However, after we went and ran around Indiantown for a while, he headed toward Okeechobee. It is a decent sized town, and we planned to eat out anyway, so we stopped at a place there called San Diego.

On the way back, I noticed the dam and said, “Hey, that must be the lake.” Dave knew I wouldn’t be satisfied until I could say I saw it, so we found an access road and went to see.

Theres no good spot to see the entire thing, but its so big, that would be impossible anyway unless you were flying over it!

See the smoggy sky in the first pic? That is due to control burns they do in the wildlife areas, just like they did when we lived in southeast Texas. I think they have to burn the undergrowth from time to time.
