Inktober ‘25 – Artctic & Rival

I don’t remember why I didn’t draw last night, presumably because we were already going to the lake in our minds. Yet as crazy as today has been, driving to Cedar Creek Lake, taking my VA phone appointment, then driving around and looking at a few houses by ourselves, I still found time to do two drawings.

The polar bear I drew for the word “arctic “ is rather comical, but I forgot a step or two. Plus, it’s hard to make a white-ish polar bear stand out on snow on paper.

Also, I cut the bottom of the picture off.

The next drawing is for the word “rival”. I’m pretty sure you’ll get the reference without my help. 🤣

I’m beatSo yes, I know this has nothing to do with Inktober, but we will be here at Cedar Creek Lake looking at houses for a week. It is east of Dallas, but close enough that I can be at the VA hospital in an hour or so.

My appt went well (for a phone appt) and I liked the sound of my new doctor. She is going to send a referral to my neuro surgeon and a separate one to obtain a neurologist. We aren’t on the same page with my meds, but I have some options. She was happy when I told her I’d be here in Texas until my back issue is resolved.

I’m beat, so that’s all for tonight. Sleep well everyone, thanks for your prayers and support, and I have a prayer request for my friend Stepanie and her dad. 🙏 and keep my other friend Robin and her family in your prayers as well. Thank you in advance.

  1. Great idea for your “rival” picture! I’m glad that your meeting with your new doctor went well and that a plan has started. I hope things go as well as possible while your waiting for your next appointment. Take care.

    1. Thank you. The next step is to reach out to the doctors in the Texas Compassionate Use Program so I can get a card and get medical marijuana from a dispensary…legally. My doctor is a big advocate which is great news and I definitely have qualifying issues.

      1. I hope this happens soon, that the system delivers what it is set up to do, not make you have to jump through all kinds of hoops and barriers. So sorry that you are having to manage pain. I hope you get help reducing it quickly.
