The Sunday Message

Here we are again and how is it a whole week went by without me blogging?

Today is the 84th anniversary of the bombing at Pearl Harbor. Not the D-Day but definitely a D-day.

Just like the one that is coming for all of us in the Day of the Lord!

Obadiah warns Edom that that day is coming, because they should not have gloated when Israel fell on hard times.

  1. God reveals the Attitudes and Actions of His Enemies to show that He is Righteous. (10-14)

God detests when people gloat over other’s misfortune and Edom had taken advantage of Israel’s calamity.

Obadiah was written about 580 BC.

Proverbs 24:17-18 says this: Do not gloat when your enemy falls, when they stumble, do not let your heart rejoice or the Lord will see and disapprove and turn his wrathway from them.

Pray for your enemies instead. Even David did not gloat when Saul died, instead he grieved.

2. Because God is Righteous He Will Deliver Justice to His Enemies and to His People. (15-21)

”Lex Talionis” is reciprocal justice. It will come on the Day of the Lord. It says at the end of Amos, that God will find every last one of them, though they try to run and hide, He will strike them down.

Didnt they know that He sees everything? If your entire life was planned before you were even conceived how can He not know everything about you, even the exact moment you will die?

The house of Jacob will get everything God promised and the land will go back to Israel. In the Millenial Kingdom they will burn the rubble left from the destruction of Esau.

I took a picture before everyone got there to show you the decorations at the church.

You can’t see the right side of the stage. There is another lit tree and many poinsettias. I was also happy with the music today, all traditional Christmas hyms but one. I met two different ladies named Sarah. So many people don’t know me because even though I’ve been going more than two years, we were always on the road. Tomorrow I will meet more because it is the women tea/dinner. I was talked into attending but it will be fun and rewarding, I’m sure.

I hope in our future we find a church just like this one. The only reason I haven’t officially become a member here is because more than likely, we will move to somewhere in East Texas. It’s a fabulous place to worship in the meantime.
