Hammer of the Gods
I’m joining A Literary Life today with her Friday 56, a sort of reading game for people who like books and book shares. My share today comes from a book that I am just now reading, although I have wanted to forever. One of my kids finally gave it to me for a gift and now I’m determined to read and finish it. In the late 70’s I was a huge Led Zeppelin fan. After I married my husband in the mid 80’s, he learned of my love for them and told me I must read this book if I wanted to learn the skinny on them. Well, it’s been a long time coming. My quote comes from the point in the story when all 4 musicians show up to their first rehearsal together. Here is the quote by Robert Plant:
“I’ve never been so turned on in my life,” he said. “Although we were all steeped in blues and R&B, we found out in the first hour and a half that we had our own identity.”
Here are the rules. Grab a book, any book. Turn to page 56 or (or 56% in your eReader). Find any sentence (or a few, just don’t spoil it) that pulls your attention. Post it!!
Have fun and lets see what you come up with!
