Today I bring you the WOD from Dee over at Thriving Not Surviving which is Riparian. I tell you, you learn something new every day! I had never heard of this word, have you??
For The Birds
The wetlands area of Port Aransas and alternately Sea Rim park in Port Arthur were my favorite places to go watch the various birds that nest in these riparian places. The pink Roseate Spoonbills are found in both places and get that color from eating shrimp and other crustaceans. Other birds making their appearance are Ibis, Egrets, Herons and Pelicans. I love birds, taking photos of them, and watching different species in general. I remember the first time I ever saw the Roseate Spoonbill, I had never seen a pink bird other than a flamingo and thought I was seeing things at first. Then I started studying the different birds that frequent our coast and saw they a regular fixture of not only our coast but Central America, South America, and the Caribbean. I have pictures of them but not on my current camera roll, so I settled for this one instead.
