We finally made it back to DFW and the excessive heat.

After a 9 hr trip in a 90degree bus (our generator wouldn’t come on) we finally made it back around 4:45pm yesterday. Parked next to Kevin’s house like when we left in April, now came the unloading of all things necessary to be here at least a month…in the 105 degree heat. It took around twenty trips back and forth, even though we were dragging and our brains were boiling.

I literally could barely think straight. I had to force David to come in the house, drink some water and rest before doing more. We had just brought in clothes, toiletries, food, craft stuff, gifts I’ve bought or made, medications, dog stuff, and still kept forgetting things. That’s why it was important to park here for the night, because the storage facility is about 25 min away. I didn’t want to leave anything on the bus we might possibly need.

However, this morning we had to get more. We started early to beat the heat, even though we were still tired. After maybe 10 more trips, we were finally ready to take it to storage. I just thought it was hot down south with the added humidity, but this feels like hell! We will probably lose weight just getting around up here. And we have much to do yet.

The insurance company handling our claim on the damage to the bus called today and will come inspect it in a day or two. Dave has his VA appt. on the 8th and I get my labs done for my appt. with my nephrologist (Dr Epstein) on Friday or the first of next week. My appt is on the 14. Then, about a week after that is my VA appt.

After dropping the RV at the storage, we went to our other storage to drop off the tent cover, and then grab my tool bag so I can work on wire wrapping projects. Then we made a trip to Walmart for “our” grocery likes and now we are back at Kevin’s…resting. Everyone is passed out cold except me, lol! I’m tired, but can’t nap during the day. I hope I don’t have to outside any more today except maybe to get in the pool!

I can’t wait to visit family and friends soon, but we have all month. I don’t know when the remodeling of the bus will commence, but no rush on that either. First we have to find out what is going to happen with Dave and his cancer treatment for that spot next to his eye. We are hoping it’s not complicated. A quick removal would be the best-case scenario, but we have to depend on the VA. Nothing usually happens quick with them. We’ll see though. ☺️
