One Last Walk

I was so excited for more time with Anne and the chance to meet her daughter that I was early arriving at her house. Lise greeted me as if we’d known each other a long time-and that is due to Anne’s blog!

That is what is so wonderful about the blogosphere. People telling stories and sharing bits and pieces of their lives make us feel like we are part of another family. We help each other, give each other tips and advice, sometimes even calling each other if we feel that close connection. But nothing beats meeting in person!

I’ve had the most enjoyable two weeks with Anne and her family!! We may not be together every moment of every day, but almost every day we met somewhere to walk, explore, eat, or just relax and talk. I’ve enjoyed every single moment and can’t wait to come back someday.

Our last walk was slightly different than the ones we’ve taken before. First, we went up the hill leading to an are overlooking her house and giving a scenic view.

You can see her house just behind that hedge that looks black.

While there, we took some photos of each other.

Lise and Anne

I think they were actually holding each other up as we were a gimpy trio this morning. Lise had hip pain, me and my pinched nerves in my lower back, and Anne still dealing with her hip pains. But that didn’t stop us. We only walked to the stop sign after a brief stop back at Anne’s. We still had many steps! Around 4,000 or so plus what the rest of the day added on.

This is my favorite of the pics Anne took of us. Do we not look like besties already?

I want to stay in touch with Anne and Lise -she lives in Denmark but travels the world- so I can hear of all her adventures on the road. Her type of traveling is different than mine. Mine isn’t so much how many countries can I visit but states. She is a world traveler! So exiting! I believe she has been to 140 countries so far!

Later we relaxed and chatted a few more minutes on Anne’s porch, but I was sitting kind of pushed out when she took the picture because when I sit, the pain is bad.

I hate saying goodbye to these wonderful people but they had a busy weekend coming up, and we had stuff to do before moving on Sunday. I will miss my walky talkies with Anne!! Thank goodness there’s texting, calling, emailing, blogging and maybe FaceTime in our future! We never seem to lack for something to talk about! 😘

  3. I see that sitting position and sympathize. My right hip gave me issues all week, I had to sit in weird positions. Leg straight out and off to the side was the most comfortable. Slowly but surely it seems to have fixed itself. Funny though I have still been able to do my yoga but cannot bend forward. LOL You look terrific. 🙂

    1. Thank you! It must be the mountain air. Walking feels much better than sitting, so I will have to keep up my daily mileage on new paths!
