a Yiddish proverb says, “We plan, God laughs.”

Well, He must have been cracking up watching us try to make our dinner reservations and watch the Christmas boat parade last night.

None of it happened, but we had the last laugh as we easily chose another restaurant, and later went to a gathering of their best friends at one of their houses.

We were having such a good time, I forgot to take any photos!! I hate it when I forget. It might be blamed on my husband who makes fun of me taking pics of my meals, etc., but honestly, I personally think I just forgot myself. I was absorbed in conversation and laughter!

I did sneak one pic of Frank and his girly drink we teased him about.

Hey, drink what you like, right? While Dave and I had very ‘adult’ el Presidentes, one of Chili’s signature cocktails, Frank was enjoying his Santa Margarita. Barb was having wine. They ran out of peno Grigio so she ordered a different white wine and it was bogo so there she was trying to quickly suck it down. We couldn’t have that, so we all ordered another round and continued our convos.

I thought we’d go home afterwards, but they surprised us and we went to visit some friends who were having a game night before we rudely interrupted, lol. They didn’t mind, and we moved to the larger outdoor table on their covered patio and talked and laughed for a couple of hours.

We had such a blast, we didn’t mind that our plan didn’t work out. Good on us, right?
Now, my next goal is to meet Barb’s kids, her daughter, Katie, and sons Travis and Frank Jr. All in good time. These are activities I can do even with my bad back pain.

Before they arrived, I spent about 40 minutes in the warm and wonderful pool at the resort. I met such nice people and who knows, maybe it’s even good therapy!
