Meeting Up

It’s Saturday again and that means another SoCS prompt from Linda G Hill. Today she gives us this:

Your Friday prompt for Stream of Consciousness Saturday is: “to me.” Find a way to use the phrase “to me” in your post. Use it any way you’d like. Enjoy!

To me, the best thing about our lifestyle is meeting people and getting involved in games and activities. It’s good to make friends in the RV Resorts or parks that you stay in.

So, to that end, we met up for coffee and donuts (although I normally don’t eat those) to meet some new people. We met Bonnie and John, who live behind us somewhere near the back of the park, and their neighbor, Harm. We had a ball with him! He is a wiry little guy, very friendly, and what a prankster. He told us he was retiring and we asked him from what. He said, “The Porn Business” with a straight face. I couldn’t help it, I burst out laughing. His real job (I still didn’t know wether to believe him) was a professional polo player!

Harm has lived in Florida for a while now, but we knew he was from another country, so I asked. He is originally from South Africa. To me, he sounded Latino, but boy was I wrong! I usually get peoples accents right.

I gravitate to people around the same age or younger, but invariably we end up with friends that are just a tad older than us. As long as everyone has fun like us, who cares? I’m looking forward to getting this back healed up so we can have lots of fun with all of our new friends. We even like the people in the office, they are so warm, friendly, and very helpful!

Harm also told us of another beach I can’t wait to go to when I feel better on Hope Sound. See, it’s great to make friends where you stay, they give you lots of new ideas! And we reciprocate when we can! We help each other, in other words.

  1. Meeting interesting people is so much fun! I’ve always found the most interesting ones are older folks. The volume of their experiences and age-induced confidence are fascinating. Well done!
