Blessed Sunday everyone! It appears I’ve still not come up with a new header yet, but if I get focused on the task, I will get it done!
We are getting closer to wrapping up the short chapter that is Zephaniah. Today’s message is based off this passage: Zephaniah 3: 9-13.
But first, I’d like to invite you to hear the actual message at this link.
Let me know if you have problems and I’ll figure out a shorter version. I have the subscription to the YouTube channel, but I couldn’t figure out where the share button was. Ugh, technology, right?
Have you noticed that the prophets always seem to close their chapters on a positive note? After all the warnings, and chastising, they leave us with words of encouragement. They do this to stimulate obedience out of a loving relationship.
They do this also to stimulate encouragement that the path you are on as a saved person is the right and “normal” one, despite what today’s upside-down society would try and have you believe.
The third reason they do this is to stimulate faithfulness towards God.
I. God’s people are saved from destruction to purity, relationship, unity, and worship. (3:9-10)
John’s question to us this morning was, “So why wait?”
Why can’t we go ahead and spread this message, these words of encouragement right now? That is what we are called to do. His exact words were, “We are called to release the good that God has put inside of us, once we have been saved.”
Now, he used quite the graphic image through words to explain how little He cares for you and your good deeds before you are saved. He said we are as disgusting to Him as menstrual rags. Wow! That stunned me. If that isn’t a reason to follow God, I don’t know what is! He wants you to be saved from destruction, sin, and the horror of Hell.
”For we know that our old selves were crucified with Him so that the body ruled by our sin might be done away with, that we should no longer be slaves to sin- because anyone who as died has been set free from sin.” Romans 6:6-7

II. God’s people will be saved from the Bondage of their sins to the Peace of His Presence.
After that he quoted Ephesians 1-7 saying:
”In Him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance to the riches of God’s grace.”
What good news is all of this? It is our job now to invite everyone you know, especially if they don’t already know about Jesus, to come to our church. If you cannot be there physically, you can attend virtually, and that is also good news!
My personal message is, if you are dissatisfied with your own church, or if they are encouraging you to bow to the ways this society is trying to get you to believe, leave them. ( We did just that!)
Come listen and see if you don’t find peace, encouragement, fellowship, and the love of God.
Bear Creek Bible Church teaches the word of God straight from the scriptures. Straight from the Bible, whether you read the old or the new testament.
I’m not perfect, none of us are, but the good news is that through God, you will be born again. Good things are coming for all of us believers!
Will you be with us? I pray that you will! 🙏❤️
