C is for casa! Despite my love of travel, it’s good to be home! Seeing family and friends is the best part about that, since we have no sticks and bricks home anymore.
Since we’ve been home, scarcely a week, we have run to someplace or had to get something done every day. Dinner out on the night we got here to celebrate the nuptuals of Robert (Bubba) and Nazra, his new wife from Brazil. Then a party at Gary’s Friday night, after a quick visit from Josh and Shari who were leaving for Ohio the next day.
I don’t remember what all we did Saturday, but I’m sure we went shopping for Easter dinner, which was on Sunday after a lovely church service. Then we had all the family here including Bub and Naz. It was great catching up with Chris and Sean before they were back to a busy work week.
Monday, Dave had to go get his labs for an upcoming appointment at the VA, and today I did the same for my appointment with my nephrologist. Yesterday we finally had a rest day and I got to work on my diamond art for a couple of hours. Except I forgot we had to drive back out to the bus and take it to the shop to have them fix the generator and the awning Dave accidentally broke after a Florida rain storm.
Tomorrow will mark our first week home, and we will probably be right back at Frijoles again for date night, hopefully with friends Dave and Robin! No telling what the weekend will bring, but in the meantime, we have to make plans for our next journey, which is supposed to be Colorado. I also have to get some things cleared up, since it seems my identity was stolen again! Someone tried to open a bank account in my name at a bank I’m not a member of. Jeez!
I also have to get my back looked at again here at our VA, after going through the hoops it will take beforehand. You know, seeing my primary first, getting a consult for the spinal team, etc. Thank goodness I found my MRI and report so I’ll have that to prove what I went through in Florida. Another blessing is that Dave is in mostly good health, because I’m a hot mess.
I miss my new sister, and all of our Florida friends we made while there, but I like our month or so long breaks to catch up with friends and family at home. So many to see in so little time. Maybe for my brother’s upcoming birthday, I’ll throw a party and invite them all over at once, lol! He knows all of our friends anyway!
Following a certain theme for the challenge is difficult for me; you really don’t want me to rehash all of our old trips do you? Maybe I can change gears and think of another subject to write about. Give me some feedback on this please, otherwise I’ll have to do what many others are doing and just “go rogue.”
