The Work Begins

Attachment-1.png

So I’ve been talking about my upcoming physical therapy appointment and today, May day was it. What looked like very easy, very doable, exercises really made me hurt, temporarily.

I know I need to work on building strength, mainly my core. To say I’ve let it go is an understatement at this point, with the extra pounds to show it, but I’m not so far gone I can’t get strong again.

The point is to take it show and easy, so right now I’m to do them once a day until then next session next week. Simple clam shells, Ab work and knee to chest stretches. A bit of good news to report also, is that the arthritis cream is working much better than the camphor-lidocaine creams did.

It’s easy now, but she promised they would ramp up the exercises as we progress. Say a prayer that I can be patient and take it slow and easy. 😊

  2. Nice and easy does it every time (says a song popular many decades ago…) During my past five years of being a patient with a somewhat mysterious, obscure diagnosis (which so far has responded to somewhat experimental treatment), I have learned to be more patient myself. It can be done. Deep breath in. Deep breath out. I agree with the comment above. You’ve got this!

  4. PT is never easy. And, as you say, when it gets easy, they make it harder. It almost doesn’t matter that it for our own good. Good luck with the process.
