SoCS-Funny Story

SOCS

So this Saturday, Linda has challenged us this way: Your prompt is a word that starts with “hap”.

This morning as I was trying to insert my contact, I dropped it. I looked everywhere, the hand towel, the floor, the sink, and my clothes.

Finally I gave up and found a new contact and went to the bathroom cabinet to grab the saline solution. As I reached for the knob, my contact happened to be there! On the knob. How did I think I’d dropped it? 🤣

Later on, we went to return a book at the library for Dave, also the grocery store to grab some squash to go with tonight’s dinner. I was happy that Dave took a detour to explore.

This little ride took us to the other side of the river where so many people lived that I didn’t even know about. There is the rest of Dolores’s residents! We happened upon a great fishing spot in a secret little place off the road. The river is wider here yet still not deep.

Still, I have not encountered or even viewed a river otter, but I know they are around because Dave saw one and took a picture. I’ve also not seen the tiny creatures that scurry around the ground and then dart into their holes in the ground. Every time Dave seees one, I’m looking off in another direction. 😂 I just know from the blur I happened to catch streaking across the road, that they are even smaller than the chipmunks we had at Echo Basin.

Can you spot the otter? He’s on the porch of this cabin.

It’s been raining off and on, it’s cool and sometimes windy, so we’ve hung around most of the day in the house. I got one story submitted, but after writing the other, couldn’t find it in my files. So I miss the deadline if I don’t find it soon. This was the contest for $$$. I also could not get into my Submittable account. Things aren’t always as easy on my iPad.

As much as I like going on road trips to explore new places, I’m happy with the rainy days too, because I get more reading, writing, and generally goofing off time! We’ve been watching an all day marathon of the late great Anthony Bourdain’s show- No Reservations.
