EB Comes Back to Play

Yesterday, my good friends from Echo Basin returned to play Mahjong with me here at Dolores River RV Park.

I have so much fun with them playing the game, catching up on what we’ve been doing, and getting lunch together afterwards at our new favorite Mexican food place.

Dave tried to take a selfie of us at the end of a very good day, but cut part of me off. The wind was blowing hard, making what’s left of my hair in a goofy looking style.

The picture is Dave, Judy, Chuck, Sherry and MaryAnn.

So far, Dave can’t be coerced into playing, but once I get my own Mahjong set, I’ll teach him and he will see it’s a fun and challenging game. He enjoys all the friends coming to visit though!

Are there any other Mahjong players out there in the blogosphere? I’d love to hear from you! I must find my tribe to play with or make one of my own at our next destination.

We are sitting here watching Miami Vice, an 80’s classic tv show when my hubby remarks that the 80’s were a silly decade. He hates most of the music, and I agree that we looked pretty silly back then with the spandex pants seen on most rock idols, the big hair, bandanas, and glitter, but I thought it was fun. You can always tell an 80’s movie by the music score. I remember when I was younger, Miami Vice was my favorite show. Back then it was the cool thing on tv.

When I went out during that time, I wore mainly jeans and some kind of flashy top if not just a t-shirt, maybe a bandanna around my arm and glitter, always the glitter and shiny lip gloss. We all thought we were so hot 🤣😂 My friends and I loved to dance and that’s the part I miss the most. We probably looked silly doing it but man, we had fun!

Even back then, I couldn’t do the big hair, but I tried with what I had, which is probably why I have so little now. Years of perms, dyes, and over-processing have taken their toll. Now I look like a boy, but it’s on it’s way to becoming healthy. I wonder if it will be back to brown or gray when it all grows off and out. The last lady that handled my hair said no dying, no cutting, and no heat for a long time and it will be healthy again. That and my new shampoo and conditioner should do the trick.

I’m going to close this rambling post now and go to the store. 😁

For your enjoyment!

  2. Looks like a fun group and you must be a fun gal to be with you and Dave or they would not travel that way to be with you both! That in itself would give me so much gratitude to God for those friends! Are they’re Not people in the area to visit or play games with? So is Dave able to learn to fly fish with an instructor? I hope the weather is good for you guys? I am getting ready after I go to the bathroom to go outside and listen to my audiobook!! There has been little bit of a cold front it is in the 80s. Good listening weather! Even though I was born in 74. I was in 80s girl and I lived in a material world, LOL, the 80s music yes when I look back but all cheesy and cray cray not to mention the acting and outfit! I was never really into Miami Vice, my jam was Trapper Jon MD or Star Search! Music was bigger thing. I was always outside playing with the neighbor or by myself a lot. I’d love to make a cabin of the wood (it was not tall) we had gathered in our backyard and I would play house with my stuffed animals in the backyard. I also didn’t have a best friend who lived not very far from me and I would spend time with her. I was very much a tomboy so I was always in a sport until middle school when everything changed for me. I was too wordy, LOL! I shall roll for now, love you bunches!

    1. Yes I am grateful for such good friends. We all have each other’s numbers so we can stay in touch.
Dave taught himself to flyfish, but I’m sure a guide could show him a thing or two. Maybe Gary can when we get to Denver.
I’m glad y’all have cooler weather and have had some rain.
You kinda strike me as a former tomboy, lol. Now you’re more a girly girl 😉
Chris called from SC and told me they basically threw him to the wolves and he is scared of sinking. I had Dave talk him off the ledge and hopefully he feels more encouraged. I worry about him but I know he will be ok.
Taylor told me today they are job hunting and times are hard. Everyone has bad news lately but Josh…how weird is that??
I have a lot to pray for. You enjoy reading your audiobook and ill talk to you later. Love ya! ❤️😘
