It’s Raining Leaves

No one who sees me walking on a good day knows the depths of my pain. On a good day, I am upright, no limping, my gait straight.

As I walk, the leaves are raining yellow all around me.

The seasons are changing and the evidence is all around me. As I walk, crunching through the gravel and strewn rocks, my knees, hips and lower back are letting me know their displeasure.

I keep going, determined to make the circuit through the woods and down the trail, because if I stop, I may not get going again. Move it or lose it as they say. This has to be my attitude until and even after I’m back on the meds I’m missing.

As David fished the large and well-stocked ponds yesterday, I snapped more pictures showing the trees and growth near the ground changing into beautiful shades of orange, red, and yellow.

A few days before, he’d caught five beautiful trout, prepared them for the grill with garlic, butter, and lemon. We enjoyed them and shared the rest with our neighbor Blair.

Watch those bones!

Blair was going through a divorce when we met him. He’s a very nice guy that was blindsided by his wife after an occurrence that happens to RVers from time to time. They had just purchased a Class A motorhome but right away, experienced problems like breaking down and the strain was just too much for her evidently, leaving Blair with the motorhome and dog to fend for themselves.

If we can help by providing a meal or a snack, we are happy to do so.

Thinking of others is also a great pain reliever because it takes your mind off of yourself. ☺️

I’m grateful that David mastered the art of flyfishing, and knows how to clean and prepare fish. We won’t starve if we are ever stranded!

I may be watching too many survival shows lately! 😁🤣

  1. Y’all are so very kind.

The leaves here are either yellow or brown. Maybe we’ll get a few red ones later.

    1. I hate that we’ll miss the best part of that. I’m sure Dave will be happy to see the elk too. We haven’t seen any here but maybe near Denver.
