The Sunday Message

Is based on Colossians 4: 7-11

We are to be testifiers of Christ.

Paul sent Tichisus and Onesimus to the church at Colossae to witness for Christ and to inform him of Paul’s imprisonment. They were faithful servants, not perfect, but equipped with the tools, instructions, and resources to get the job done, as are we!

We can always testify, whether we stay in our current situation, or go to other places.

The person who makes a difference isn’t the flashiest, but the person who follows core values, institutes them, and makes sure they are followed. Be like Tichisus.

Forgive your wrongdoers because bitterness is like drinking poison and expecting them to die. We are not to seek revenge, but to always forgive. It isn’t easy, but if benefits you in the long run.

Onesimus would travel to Rome from Ephesus to Colossae, possibly to Laodicea and to Philemon. Others went too, like Aristarchus, Gaius, and Julius.

They had wonderous stories to tell future disciples, like the time Aristarchus fueded with Paul, or of an earlier trip in which Mark and Paul were shipwrecked.

Mark wasn’t always perfect, although he later went on to author one of the Gospels of the New Testament. He had bailed on an earlier mission trip and it took a while for Paul to forgive and trust him again, but he did and so Mark went on this journey also with Tichisus and the rest.

These men were the “case studies” and great witnesses.

Let us be like them and testify to others here and afar.

Will you please join me in prayer for my brother, Kevin as he journeys to Mexico today for the yearly pastors conference. (he is not a pastor but helps cook the food and serve, etc.) Pray they have a safe journey and experience no trouble, with their bus, or at the border. 🙏
