The Sunday Message

Hi! I am back with your message today, sorry again about last week.

First, I want to invite anyone who has no home church, people who travel, and those who might be stuck at home because you can’t get out, to join me each week online @bcbc.org/resources. Bear Creek Bible Church is where my brother goes, and when I’m home I join him. So when I’m away, I attend via youtube online.

I would also like to invite anyone who needs a refresher on why we don’t follow the old covenant be caused it’s been replaced with a new and better covenant to reread Hebrews. That is where I am in my personal study.

As for the Sunday Message, today it comes from Proverbs 3:1-35.

Pastor John jokingly compared Solomon to Elon Musk because he was the wisest in the land, very wealthy, but was not boastful or arrogant.

We’ve been discussing the power of wisdom, the benefits of having wisdom, and what a great gift wisdom is from God.

Becoming wiser in the word has its perks.

God used wisdom and knowledge and understanding to create the universe!

Recalling the teachings of love, kindness and truth will provide blessings such as a long life and peace, a good reputation, straight paths, better health, financial wealth.

Fellowship with God and trust in His ways, which are better than our ways. Trusting in God will make you less anxious and more relaxed. He protects us and provides for us.

I’m a lot less anxious than I used to be. I finally figured out that I’m not I control, whats gonna happen is gonna happen, don’t sweat the small stuff, I can’t control my kids-even now-and I’m old! Anyway, that means I am a lot more relaxed nowadays.

Reject the temptation to worship the gifts you’ve been given yet use them with a low level satisfaction.

How does one gain enough financial wealth to be provided for but not so much that you start worshiping what you’ve gained? You’ve got to give back to God.

No percentage is necessary, but most prefer the 10% method. If you pay God first, then pay your bills, and the rest is for you, you will earn back more than you need!

Its truly miraculous how this works, only God can say. But it does and I’ve seen it in my own life. Now, we haven’t been tithing regularly because we aren’t members of a church at the moment. But I’ve given a bit here and there to Kevin’s church if they need it for a mission project or something.

However, when we went to the Methodist church back home for several years, we tithed ever week we could and those weeks were always the best of the month. Things seemed to go right, and all was good. I can’t remember particular incidents involving money, but I’m sure there were some. Or maybe God provided exactly what we needed.

When we left the Methodist Church due to the split in ideals, I went to Kevins church and Dave is just on a break. He is so traditional that my brother’s church wasn’t for him and he definitely doesn’t want to go back to the Methodist church. I pray we find a happy medium some day when traveling is over..

Blessed are those who listen to the wisdom of God.

  1. Wisdom Brings Many benefits in This Life. (3:1-12)
  2. Wisdom is of Great Value.
  3. Wisdom Teaches Healthy Human skills. (3: 21-35))
