The Sunday Message

I know, I know. I’m quite late today with the message but I’ve been occupied. I had to enjoy just a little sunshine before the t-storms started and the rest of the week will not be so nice.

There was a lot to do between this morning’s post and now. But I’m here and ready to relate!

The subject of today’s message was Christian Nationalism. Today was a day for learning a lot of new information for me.

I had never heard the term, however, its definition depends on who you ask and is not what we as believers should relate with. It covers all kinds of issues from abortion rights, to homosexualism. I could not write fast enough to capture everything that was said but basically, we have a much different world view.

Because Christians got involved, half of the nation has outlawed abortion. That means the other half still hasn’t. However, one thing I learned today was that little old BCBC* took the federal government on and won to change the laws regarding the issue of whether homosexuals, bi-gender, and transgender people can be employed by the church.

We love all people and want the best for them, but we don’t want them working for our churches. They won and got the laws implemented for churches nation wide!

This is an example of how change happens when believers get involved. I know these issues are very controversial, and world views collide constantly. Satan is hard at work and will not let up until Jesus comes back.

The more he sees us succeeding, the harder he will fight to destroy it.

Everyone (in our church for sure) is pro-life and Pastor Johnshowed us a beautiful verse from Psalms that perfectly sums up why.

I’m sorry I did not catch which Psalm he said this was taken from but it is wonderful.

No matter what anyone else thinks, the government is not our savior. God is. We love God first followed by country, and we love our country, but not to the extent that we will worship the government.

The best definition of what we as believers who may disagree with some government policies is a Patriot. We are patriots and christians with a little “c”.

We have a Biblical call to influence government as Joseph did in Genesis 41 and as Paul did in Acts 17 22-24. Also Daniel in Genesis 2: 48-49. Are we going to face resistance, they did! Yet look at the change that came about from it.

We must honor authority because they are ordained by God, yet not have blind-obedience.

David and I left the Methodist church because we didn’t like the direction these Christians were going. We could see the writing on the wall and wanted no part of it. Thank God we have liberty to make that decision!!

Our world views are from the Bible. Let us always endorse good public policy and advocate for it. We as christian believers have many tasks, lets go do them well. 🙏
