SoCS-Live and In-Person

It’s Saturday! Haha, get the reference?

I guess we will attack Linda Hill’s weekly prompt, right after I go put the beach towels in the dryer!

Your Friday prompt for Stream of Consciousness Saturday is “in person.” Use it any way you’d like. Have fun!

I’m baaaack!

My favorite way to enjoy the music I love is live and in-person. I can’t possibly remember all the musical acts I’ve seen in my years, but I can try to relate some of the most memorable ones.

I once won tickets to Paul Simon and it was the year he had the African band as guests. What a fabulous experience to see that! They played instruments I’ve never seen or heard before.

Transiberian Orchestra performed their Christmas in Sareivo

(This stupid editor wont let me fix that mistake, but I press on.)

As I was saying, the band mixes classical music with rock guitars, lasers, synths and lights to create an entirely different performance as they tell the story of the little lost girl at Christmas. They are quoted as arena rock juggernauts.

Aerosmith I’ve seen about five times and they are always better in person to me. I want to feel the music in my chest as that hard rock beat blasts through the amplification and see the expressions on the artists faces. I pretend they are singing only to me, which heightens the experience.

Korn and Van Halen I’ve also seen multiple times, but some of the others I never was able to see live still haunt me. Never will I ever get to see Led Zeppelin or Lynyrd Skynyrd due to deaths in the band. My beloved Prince was never to fulfill my fantasy, or Jimi Hendrix rock my world.

Still, I relish others like Kiss, Ted Nugent, and other ‘hair bands’ I saw in the 80’s. Again, it would take a lot of brain wracking to remember the many, many performances, plays, and other artists I’ve seen in person. I’ve even met famous celebrities, which is something you never forget.

How can I forget the sports stars I’ve met as well? Darian Hatcher of the Dallas Stars, I sat on his lap once for a photo. What a hunk! Mike Modano, and others too, one picture I have with “Luddy” and the Stanley Cup!!

When I think about it, I’ve had some amazing experiences live and in person. Some day, maybe ill write a book, if I can remember all the details!

    1. I was living and didn’t stop to realize it!

I should have been journaling then, and I’d be able to write about it.
