The Sunday Message

Good afternoon on a stormy day here in Jupiter.

It’s been hours since church, yet I’ve been enjoying a rare day of indulgent reading. Blog posts, newsletters, substacks…you name it! But now I must get to business and discuss today’s message.

This was my third visit to Beacon Baptist church and today, I gave Amanda a ride.

I listened as the pastor talked about the very dirt that Adam was made of, the first dirt, that glorious dirt. Yet once Adam sinned, the dirt became stained, not just for him but for all of us.

No one, not one, is free from sin. Yet we can all be saved by the redeeming blood of Christ. Through His sacrifice, we were all saved, if we believe.

He is a good pastor, you just have to listen. I knew the story, I’ve studied it. So I was content to listen to the way he interpreted compared to the way Steven Armstrong did. It was the same message with a totally different delivery.

Amanda irritated me, however. She studies at her Bible the entire service. How can she hear what the pastor is saying! I think she is generally cut from a different cloth than me, but to each his own.

I would still rather be in fellowship with someone than sit at home listening to my online service (although I guess I can do both). I don’t think my pastor would mind me visiting another church as long as they teach the Bible like Pastor Blalock does at Beacon.

I have another set of friends who attend here, but I couldn’t find them this morning. Its all good. Maybe next week I will even go to Bible study with them.

Have a blessed Sunday everyone.
