Going to Burro Fest last year was so fun that the absence of everything I liked about it is clouding my opinion of this year’s attempt.
Alas, its Saturday again which means now I have to tackle Linda Hill’s prompt.
Your Friday prompt for Stream of Consciousness Saturday is “jumble.” Use it any way you’d like. Enjoy!
Burro Fest was a massive jumble of people and burros dressed in silly costumes as well as their handlers. It seems the theme was crazy hats or Alice in Wonderland, I’m not sure.
There was no Mexican street food this year…lame.
There was no car show….lame.
No one came to weave baskets like last year, bummer!
My friend the artist wasn’t at her shop, so I didn’t get to visit with her. 😐
I wasn’t inspired to buy anything, but I wanted to get Dave his hat band. Unfortunately, he didn’t like any that were available. There was one that was beautiful but it was too expensive and he wants horsehair not leather and conchos.
Another of the art galleries we frequent was so hot, we were in and out in no time.
The highlight of the day was eating hot, fresh, right-out-of-the-pan authentic fry bread. She had a new helper this year, he was kind of a frowny face, but we paid our money and enjoyed our bread anyway.

We ate our bread with the traditional honey, cinnamon, and powdered sugar.
I came home and ate veggies with ranch for lunch and now I’m starving for dinner. That’s the downside to alternative, natural medicine. If I stay active each day, hopefully I won’t gain a bunch of weight.
We saw a deer in the farmer’s field down the long and winding road on our way to the festival.

I took a few pics around our site as well. We took a walk to the end of our road and back this morning. I am out of shape! When we got back my heart rate was 119!

We sat outside for a bit with the dogs before I remembered that Burro Fest was today. Brandy was watching a man walking a cat on a leash. I think he is our neighbors to the left side of us, and our neighbors to the right are Sherry and Chuck. We saw them for a few minutes at the festival, then went our separate ways.
