I had every intention of going to Dallas today to talk to the VA about my back and see what they could do to alleviate my pain. Maybe another nerve block injection, or at least get a new MRI so they could see if I further injured it in the fall a few months ago.
Until last night, when my brother handed me a possible cure. But before I used it, he asked me to read the research in the article cited here.
So I did. It is a very long article on Substack with videos and outside links to more studies. But it didn’t take long for me to put the article aside and grab the bottle of DMSO gel and start the application. I figured it can’t hurt and after hearing all those patient testimonials, it just might give me my life back.
The only thing I couldn’t find- because it’s behind a paywall- was how to use it. But I reread the entire article, watched the video of the 60 Minutes segment on it and why doctors don’t want you to know how well it works because it might put them out of business. I watched patients like the pro football player who swears by it simply apply it with his fingers to the affected arm, and did the same to my lower back and the fingers I hurt in the fall. (evidently, I fell on my hand and sprained three fingers. The pinky is the last to come around)
So I’m going to experiment and put the linament gel on several times a day. If it works, that would be fantastic. It’s supposed to work especially well on musculoskeletal injuries and issues. It reduces inflammation and eventually heals.
I figure what have I got to lose? So far I’ve had no skin reaction. It may smell like garlic, but I’ll put up with that. (I didn’t smell anything but maybe with continued use?) since it’s only approved for animals, I’m going to also try it on Brandy. She has terrible arthritis and has started limping. I just need to apply it where she can’t lick it off.
So wish me luck. Just a side note. I woke up feeling better today anyway, after two days pretty much flat on my back under the influence of Tylenol and muscle relaxers. If this stuff works and I don’t have to get shots or surgery to fix my back, problem solved. But you better believe I’m going to pray 🙏 on top of it. They say it could take anywhere from 24 hours to quite a few weeks, but I can stick with it.
I’ll be reporting back on the results, so wish me luck!

This is the formula I’m using.
