Today’s message was centered on government and different kinds of leaders.

I. God’s View of Human Government -We are theocratic monarchists. Evil must be restrained.

Peter 2: 13-14 starts: Submit yourselves for the Lord’s sake to every human authority.

Good government is capable, God fearing, trustworthy, and hates dishonest gain. George Washington was one of the best leaders this country ever had.

II. The Key to Good Government is the Character of Those in Authority

King David was the best leader besides Yaweh.

In contrast, Northern Israel had a quick turnover of kings because they were all wicked men. Me who came from poverty to power are typically the worst leaders. When the righteous rule, people celebrate. When evil men rule, people run and hide. Christians are the most persecuted world wide even today.

Vote!! It’s your duty.

III. The Most Effective Form of Government is Self-Government. (28: 4-5, 7, 9)

Read Romans 1:21

The more self-government we have, the less government we need!

When Saul disregarded God!s law, He stopped helping him and answering his prayers. Anything other than Biblical Christianity will ultimately fail.

How do we self govern? Walk by the Spirit.
