SoCS Drawing Portraits

When I was young, I had flashcards of all the presidents. They sat poised as for a portrait then later when I became interested in drawing, I practiced by drawing those flashcards.

Imagine cards like these only black and white.

I used to be good at it but I don’t have the proof with me. It’s in an old sketchpad that is probably in our storage at home, along with naked trees, my other favorite thing I started out drawing.

When we were kids and again later when our kids were young, we used to sit for family portraits. I wondered why we quit that practice, then I remembered when everyone had their own camera, which morphed into everyone having iPhones.

Still, people sit while someone paints their portrait. But I’d never be caught dead sitting for a nude one! No one wants to see that! 🤣😂

Thanks to Linda for the prompt word today.

    1. Thank you.
Not sure who I’m talking to, its coming across as “anonymous.”
I guess I had little imagination even as a kid. 😉

  2. Fortunately, no one will ever ask me to pose in that state.
