Cee’s Share Your World…
Yea! Now I have a new place to do challenges like this great one by Cee! She does this challenge every week on Mondays, (something that makes Mondays worthwhile), and I along with some other bloggy friends, love answering them.
You will see that Cee’s questions are in a bolded type…my answers will be plain Jane, sorry.
List things or events that changed your life?
- Getting Married
- Having kids
- Quitting my “real” job
Getting married meant that I was not alone to face the world anymore, that was a welcome change. I mean, I had my family and friends, but having a partner who was also my best friend and getting to spend the rest of my life with him? That was a game changer!
Having my children changed my life each and every time. Each one was different and had their own special set of circumstances. My first, Sean, was born at Carswell Airforce Base, a challenge in itself. I was in labor with him for 22 hours before they declared my need of an “emergency” C-section!! I didn’t see him until sometime in the middle of the night, and when they handed him to me, I was alone in the room. I peeled back the blanket from his face and burst into tears. He looked just like me, it was uncanny, kind of how much I look like my mom. Joshua came next, I gained more weight with him than any of them, after the planned C-section, I was on a morphine pump because I was in so much pain. Before we even left the hospital, I developed the “baby blues” and cried for a solid week. They gave me some kind of pills and I slept a lot. My poor husband. Then came Chris, he was supposed to be my girl! He came out kicking and screaming, drop dead gorgeous and almost killed me. I had an allergic reaction to the drug they put in my spinal, spent a week in a dark room while my poor husband had to deal with seeing our newborn poked and prodded the whole time because he was born with a pneumothorax. (Hole in his lung) It’s a wonder I love them all so much, but I do.
Somewhere in my 22 year of working in the medical field, I had what we like to call a min-meltdown. My husband said the job was not worth my sanity and allowed me to quit. I have been trying to make up for it ever since. I have tried every MLM out there, made and sold crafts and now I’m hoping my writing is the charm that finally earns me a paycheck. Sorry guys, that was kinda long-winded!
Complete this sentence: Is it a bird? Is it a plane? No it’s…The newest thing- a car that actually flies! I saw it on Facebook and uttered that most famous line, “I gotta get me one of these!!”
What genre of music do you like? Well, hold on to your hats people, but this old lady loves to rock out! Bands like Korn, Shinedown and Volbeat really shake my tree, but honestly, I love all music. Yes, even the dreaded opera! If it’s country, I’m not as huge a fan, but I still listen…I was raised on it after all.
What did you appreciate or what made you smile this past week? I really appreciated my son Chris coming to hang out with his momma, of course, he played golf with his daddy first. 🙂 🙂 Then, the little toot fell asleep on me as I was in mid sentence about this movie that I saw. (I call him that even though he’s 30 now, he’ll always be my baby).
