#SoSC 10-7-22 Cleaning Out

Today I will tell you more transition stories and we’ll deal with Linda G Hill’s Stream of Consciousness, which is:

Your Friday prompt for Stream of Consciousness Saturday is “back of the fridge.”Write the first thing that comes to mind when you think of the phrase “back of the fridge.” Enjoy

This week has been very busy with multiple trips to the house to clean and transfer things from our house to Kevin’s, the storage, and the RV. I think it was Monday when I cleaned out the back of the fridge, and then wiped down all the bins and shelves.

You don’t know the filth you ignore until you have to do that job. I’ve seen worse, but ours was pretty grimy on the shelves. 🤣

As I tried to fit things in Kevin’s fridge, I found I had to utilize the back of the fridge for lesser used items, because he rarely looks for anything very long before thinking he’s lost it, or loses interest. Ahhh, the life of a bachelor. Other factors of this transition are frustrating too, not that we aren’t grateful for a place to stay.

Yesterday, I felt some better, so I did the laundry, ran the dishes and put them up, then went to my house to help Dave clean drawers in the kitchen out, water the plants, and put more things in our cars for trips back to Kevin’s and the storage. If I feel better today (because I started feeling bad after a while yesterday) we will take more out to the RV. We don’t want to take everything out there yet, because it needs to go in for service before our first outing. I’m not sure when that will be, but we need to call and find out when they’re available to do it.

It’s unfortunate that I’m puny while trying to get all this done, but I’ve rested quite a bit too. It’s difficult for me to sit still knowing things need to be done. I don’t want to end up in the hospital though, so I must follow the doctors orders strictly. Hopefully, the antibiotics do their job and I feel better real soon. I already looked at a diet for diverticulitis for when I can transition to more solid food again. It’s not bad, especially when you’re bored to death of a liquid and bland diet. 🤮

Not a Ghost of a Chance 10-13-21

Halloween Challenge

Last night, I told Dave that I hadn’t done squat because it had been “one of those days” with Dad. It wasn’t true, however, I managed to do two blog posts, my Spanish lessons (like every day), the laundry, take care of all of Dad’s needs (like every day), exercises, and even cooked supper because Dave said he would be home late. I even got a few minutes of doing my lastest Diamond Art project, which is better than no time at all.

I may not have done any extra writing, and there’s not a ghost of a chance of me studying transcription right now, but guess what? It’s not that important. We are doing fine. I wouldn’t have time to fit a job in right now anyway, so I may as well pick it up sometime in the future, when I do. I have the course forever! None of my extra writing has made me much, it’s basically been good practice. I work as hard or as little as I want on Medium and still have never made even $5 for the month. Why worry and stress myself about it.

Puff pancake before it settled.
Ready to slice into four pieces.

This morning, I made us a delicious puff pancake in the oven that we both enjoyed. It was even keto! It made enough for four, but we each had one, some bacon, and half a peach and we were full! That’s important. Before I came in here to work, I did Dad’s exercises. That’s important. I got a shower today. That’s important. Like I said on Facebook to a friend yesterday about learning something new every day, I’m learning how to be more tolerant, patient, and how best to communicate with my dad. Those are the important things!

Okay, so this isn’t exactly a Halloween post, but hey, I did use the prompt word. 😉

How about a lyric?

There once was an ambilevant ghost

Who didn’t care much for his host

She sang all day long

Some stupid rock song

Even when he was shrieking the most!

Hahahahahaha, ok, now it’s a Halloween post!
