Rosie and me at my church’s mobile food pantry

So today I volunteered for my second time at our church’s mobile food pantry. Upon arriving to the parking lot, I got out of the car and started to walk to the event, slipped on some black ice and went down hard on my booty, breaking my fall somewhat with my right hand. Quickly, before anyone saw me, I was up, brushing myself off and checking for injuries. It could have been so much worse, I thank my lucky stars all I got was embarrassed, a damp bottom for a while, and a little soreness. 😊

This is such a wonderful event, so many volunteers come together from all over the place and Mission Central brings the food which they have gathered from places like Walmart and Aldie who gave it away to places like us so that they can help feed the underprivileged in our community! It’s a great way to meet new people, some from my church some from other places.  today I was reunited with Rosie who I met the first time I did this and then I met a new person- a guy named Al who works for Mission Central actually he volunteers, he has a wife and a son and was in the military for 21 years retiring as a major but he looks way too young for that.

I had fun and then came home to switch hats and rest before my dr appointment with the Podiatrist. Seems there may be a fungus among us, lol. Not sure, but something is definitely wrong with my toenails. I’ll keep ya posted.
