Well folks, I am woefully behind on the 30 day challenge
Even so, I’m still going in chronological order if not every single day. Today’s prompt is: Discuss your favorite movie and why it is so special to you.

I suppose all voracious readers secretly want to be writers which is partly why The Shining is one of my favorite movies. It was the scariest book I ever read, I read it when I was a teen and looked forward to the day they made it into a movie. It’s about a writer, Jack Torrence, who has the opportunity to take a job in a remote (and haunted) hotel. His thought was that he would get a ton of work done while his family would enjoy their time at such a beautiful location. This, of course, is not how the story played out. Stephen King wove the story in such a way that you slowly see the horror unfolding rather than smack you in the face with it, like so many movies of today do. It remains for me, one of those movies I can watch over and over, now I want to see Dr. Sleep, the supposed sequel to The Shining. I always wondered what happened to that kid!
