Tummy Troubles 10-6-22

As we draw close to the end of another week, the universe has decided to stop me in my tracks for a few days.

I don’t want to bore you with all the details, just know I had some abdominal pain for a few days and, after visiting my doctor, had a CT scan this morning.

This image of diverticulitis from Wikipedia, but my CT probably looks similar due to the circled area representing lower quadrant pain.

It came back confirming the diagnosis(s) of diverticulitis, a gall stone, cysts on my liver, and cystitis. I call BS on that last one, but the first two concern me. I’m to stay on a liquid diet for a few days and take some antibiotics until their gone. I’m also to get plenty of rest, which I’m sick of already!

When I do get to start eating again, I’ll have to watch the fat, no fried food, and be very careful with nuts, seeds, and popcorn…my favorite! 😕 I’ll have to slowly reintroduce normal food. I’m not excited about any of it, but I’m following orders because I want the pain to stop!

In other news, we’ll, there’s not much to tell. Tomorrow they are wrapping up the sewer pipe replacement and backfilling the holes. We’ll probably finish clearing out the house over the weekend and closing should now be sometime next week. I’ll let you know if there’s any deviation from that plan.

Boy, I sure know how to ruin date night!

    1. The stone doesn’t concern me as much as the infection in my intestines. That could cause hospitalization if I’m not careful. So I am following the diet, and taking all my my antibiotics ☺️🤗

  2. I hope you feel better soon. I know the pain as I’ve had gall bladder surgery, and also have had diverticulitis and was in the hospital for both (different times). It’s been a few years, but I still miss nuts, seeds, and popcorn. I hope you can avoid surgery. Take it easy for awhile. 🙂

    1. Thank you, I’m trying! The hardest part is watching everyone else eat when I can’t, especially at restaurants. Torture!

  5. Glad to hear that the antibiotics have reduced your pain levels. I hope that it obliterates everything that it is supposed to. I hope you’re getting some energy back and non-liquid food. Take care, Patricia

    1. Yes, I’m on a bland diet and I’m slowly incorporating one food at a time off the diverticulitis diet. Very boring, but at least I’m not hungry!
