More Rocks and a Festival

Yesterday, I started a new batch of rough rocks.

I know, you might see a Crystal on a couple that I found at the mine.

I’m sacrificing a couple because I found many smalls geodes and I wanted to see what will happen to these. I didn’t have enough to make a batch, so on the advice of friend Karl Griffen, in Arizona, I gathered some small rocks from around the resort to use as filler. Then added my grit, and water and put her on the old tumbler!

I made sure they were all rough like mine.

With that task done, I relaxed for a bit and when Dave was done with the laundry (he insists!) we decided to get out and fart around a bit. We found a festival of sorts going on at the Robert’s Point park and decided to check it out. The fourth was on display at many of the vendors booths, showy earrings, dresses, shirts, hats and more featuring the red, white, and blue.

I took no pictures, which I now regret, but there were so many new and interesting things! Freeze dried candy, (delicious) and many resin creations-from earrings to cutting boards. I was ecstatic to find a vendor carrying air plants and all manner of holders. I bought a plant, talked to her about care, and got more ideas for displays. I’m sad to say I stopped at one plant, cause I’m cheap like that, when I could have had two or three new varieties. If she’s still there today, I might go back.

We also stopped at a T-Mobile vendor because we use that as our mobile hot spot and Dave talked to the guy about adding our phones to the plan, yet he didn’t change just yet. We got their card and he is going to research it more first. We use CC for our phone plan and don’t want to ruin a good thing. At least he scored a free cap.

I sampled two flavors of the freeze dried candy; one that tasted like Skittles and one that was the insides of a Big Hunk bar…delicious! I couldn’t part with $12 a small bag though for a sugar free version. I took her card too, just in case I want some in the future.

No parking for miles in this direction.
Lots of American flags on display as well as others. Many more spaces to park too.

Later on, we drove all the way down to where the beach is designated Corpus Christi (annexed I guess) and surprisingly enough, there was lots more room. But we were just driving around, not looking for a spot. Today will probably be worse as many people are here through the 4th. We wanted to go to Ace to look for weights to possibly set up our canopy next to the motor home but they had none. Dave was thinking about doing it to provide a cooler spot to hang out outside, which we rarely do in this heat-even with our awning out it’s hot-but we didn’t do it yet.

Dave avoided the pic!

Anyway, we ended up at Cancun somehow 😂🤣 and had a margarita with chips, queso, and salsa-therefore ruining our dinner plans. (And I wonder where this muffin top came from). 😜

We are so rotten! But loving it!

Have a safe and happy 4th of July everyone! Remember why we celebrate!

  1. If you’re going to have dinner plans ruined, a margarita with chips, queso, and salsa is a good way to do it.

    1. Thank you! I wish we physically did more because I’m serious about gaining weight since we’ve been here! It’s just so dang hot with the humidity and Dave doesn’t like going to the beach as much as me. Going fishing in this heat is a chore as well-and no shade unless we make our own.

      1. You need some shady deals???

I wouldn’t enjoy the heat and humidity, either.

      3. The mountains are always cooler than other areas. We get heat, but it usually is not relentless.
