We went to Corpus yesterday and I wanted to see something different than we’d seen before.
I was not too discouraged, however, when Dave wanted to go on The USS Lexington again. Surely there were new things to see? He loves ships, trains, and planes, so I like to indulge him with the things that interest him. It’s not all about me and what I want to do.
It was hot, so in all of our photos, we have a sheen and a healthy glow, lol. The best part was inside the onboard movie theater to watch a short film about all the planes and ships in the wars. It was very cold, so we got a break from the heat. It was also a lot of climbing up narrow stairs and back down.

Even with all that walking, stair climbing, and otherwise running around, my step counter said I only took 5, 134. I wonder if my phone and watch are syncing correctly because I had left my phone in the car the whole time we were on The Lex.
While in Corpus, we were going to do lunch, but after one failed attempt to get in a restaurant, Dave just started driving back. I said, “So much for having lunch in Corpus.” When we got to Portland, he found a place and we just went there. Chilis. Not exotic or new to us, but we were famished by that time. Oh well. Sometimes you deal with what you get. ☺️
Then, on the way back to Port Aransas, we went through Ingleside and I said I wanted to go look at houses like the ones we looked at before, many years ago when we thought about moving to the area. He just drove on through! I was disappointed, but didn’t say anything. Sometimes I do like to feel like he’s at least hearing me! Oh well, again. At least we didn’t sit in the bus all day again!!
I know what y’all are thinking, boy she sounds ungrateful. I’m not. The things I wanted to do would not have cost nearly what we shelled out for what we did do. Besides, I always want to go do new things and have new adventures, and even though we did something, it was stuff we’ve done before…many times. But again, sitting at home would have been worse, so for that, I am grateful! By the way, that was our third time to visit the USS Lexington.
