Why I Take So Many Pictures

Decor at Smiley Park as Rayven leads Grandpa Dave through the park.

Your Friday prompt for Stream of Consciousness Saturday is “Last/Lest/List/Lost.” Use them in any form you like. Use one, use two or use them all. Bonus points if you use all four.

When I decided to turn my alternative health blog into a travel blog, I knew that taking lots of pictures would be necessary.

I want my friends, blogger buddies, and new followers to see our adventures on the road as newbie full-time RVers and have the pictures to share the people, places, and food that we discover as we travel. I guess you could say I don’t want those images lost, so I preserve them in pictures.

More of Smiley Park’s decor.

My memory is not always great either, so I document our travels with pictures and text lest I forget where we’ve been and what all we saw. The list of cities we discover will grow as we stay true to this new lifestyle. I also include trips we take that weren’t in the motor home, like San Diego and our recent trip last week to Ohio to meet our six yr old granddaughter and her family, and reconnect Dave with one of his Marine buddies he hadn’t seen in 40 yrs.

Cathy and I holding on to the iconic Cleveland sign.

On that trip we saw part of Nashville, Tennessee, Ravenna, Ohio and Cleveland, Ohio as well as Van Wert and Convoy, Ohio. We also glimpsed West Memphis, Arkansas, but we only saw a casino and a Mexican restaurant other than our less than desirable hotel. The HIEs (Holiday Inn Express) we stayed at in Nashville and Van Wert were lovely, but West Memphis was kind of disgusting. There was a chaise lounge in the room that was covered in stains and the bed was wrinkled underneath the duvet cover, leading me to believe it might not be freshly made. We survived though. 😉

I love traveling and sharing our adventures with all of you, and I appreciate your interest and comments on the blog!

    1. I will, Dan, but first I’ve got to get these pics off my phone! Got any suggestions for me on how to do that quickly?

      1. No good plan. Some back up drives have the feature built in, but I’d be creful to read the fine print.

  4. Up until thirty seconds ago, I didn’t realize that what I needed in my life (and garden) is a concrete dinosaur statue. I love that.

Thanks for the post. I enjoy your photo journalism.

  5. I do not get the opportunity to travel like you do, so I live vicariously through your pictures. Even though I have a hard time seeing, but when my focus comes in I do all right. And for that I thank God! Love your details about them to because I have helps me out as well! Good job!
