SoCS -Needing Relief

I’m sorry, y’all. I had begun to write this post last night, but I could not get comfortable because my kidneys were suddenly on fire.

I thought if I have to deal with this all night I’m gonna end up in the ER, so I willed myself to relax and finally fell asleep. I was up and down all night, but managed to sleep a few hours straight, from about 1-5am. This morning, that pain is blessedly absent, so maybe it was a spasm in them. Can that even happen? Anyway, I’m supposed to get antibiotics finally-tomorrow when the Dr gets the results of my culture and sensitivity. I should have just went to my family dr at the start of this thing! I’ve suffered a week, I’m over this!! What I get for trying to get out of a dr visit.

With Dave’s surgery coming up on Thursday, I need to be well so I can take care of him. I’ve flooded myself with fluids and taken my Uribel 3x a day like directed. I’ve tried to stay away from sugar, and get up and move around although I just want to sit or lay wherever it’s comfortable. I felt good for about two hours yesterday, then canceled dinner plans when I started hurting again.

One more day to get through and hopefully I get some relief tomorrow. 😌

  1. You sound so miserable, my heart really feels for you. I hope tonight goes better until you can get your antibiotic. And once you get it, I hope you feel better quickly.

    1. Thank, Kymber. I feel like it’s all my fault trying to save a buck. Next time, I won’t go through the same channels. I really thought my nephrologist would just call me in a prescription, but no! Had I gone to the neighborhood clinic, I’d probably be over it by now!

  3. I hope you’ll be okay after you start taking the antibiotics. I am sure Dave would understand if your ability to care for him post-surgery are limited because you, too, aren’t feeling well. Prayerfully, you will be back in tip-top shape in no time!

  7. Oh, my! I’m sorry you are going through all of this. I’m nearly finished with my antibiotics. Not sure my UTI is gone. But my tummy hurts from the antibiotic. Good luck to you and Dave. It sucks when both partners are having health issues. I guess that eventually happens. Last night there were dishes left in the sink. He worried about me standing there that long, I get faint. I worried about his neuropathy in his feet. He ended up convincing me he’d do better and faster (less thoroughly) while I still had last minute packing. We are both 73. Getting old sucks but way better than the alternative!🤗🙏❤️
