Nurse Katie

What a fine time we had last night folks!! I’m enjoying every precious moment I get to share with my new found sister and her family!

Last night they all invited us over for home made dinner at their house and we were to meet daughter Katie! What a spitfire this young lady is!! She is beautiful, petite, and a ball of energy! She works for a dermatologist, and it shows! This girl positively glows!

Barb had fixed pulled pork sliders, chips, potato salad, Katie made a salad, and we had baked beans! What a feast for some hungry beasts! That we were!

After eating, us ladies talked inside while Dave and Frank enjoyed the patio and Katie’s large dog, Wilson.

Wilson, (unfortunately didn’t get photographed), is a giant of a dog, white, curly like a poodle, but tall and built like a Lab. To me, his face didn’t look like either. He’s very smart and busy.

Anyway, we girls were catching up and learning more about each other and our pasts, and Katie was marveling at our similarities and parallels in our lives.

She told us some funny stories from her workplace, and her past workplaces. She’s been a performer involved with Disney, and loves to make a child’s day. She wants to finish school and get her degree in nursing so she can help terminal children in some way.

Ok, I’ve got to tell you something in confidence, folks. No judgement please. In Florida, medical marijuana is legal. “Nurse” Katie knew how bad I was suffering with my back and gave me something to try.

When we got home I took a portion of what she gave me and went to bed. Slept like the dead. Woke up at 8:30 this morning, not even knowing what day it was but not caring either. 🤣 I’m telling you, that was the ticket, folks! I relaxed to the point that those nerves back there in my lower back finally said, “ahhhhhh.”

Now before I tighten back up, I’m going to do my stretches and try to keep things loose today. If I can get that kind of relief, I can make it to MRI day ( the 14th of Dec)! And don’t worry, I’ve already sent my many thanks this morning, but all my texts are falling on deaf ears right now….everyone is at work!

Oh! Katie also gave me a bunch of cool skin care samples so I told Dave by the time I leave Florida, I’ll look ten years younger. He laughed, and laughed. Haha! A girl can dream, right?
