Good afternoon and welcome to the Sunday Message. It’s my interpretation of what I learned from the Sermon today.
At some point, I’d really like to design a header or a logo for these posts, but for now, I’ll just use what’s already available in my editor.
Have you ever thought about being self-sufficient as being displeasing to the Lord? I never did before today.
Continuing on with Zephaniah (chapter 2: 1-3) John (our pastor) expounds on the facts that if we want to be saved from the wrath that will follow the Rapture (if we are unlucky enough to still be here) you must:
#1-Seek the Lord Himself because he is a God that not all only knows you, but wants you to know Him.
#2-Seek after righteousness
#3-Seek His humility – in other words, think of yourself less often-we are to be totally dependant on God, not self-sufficient.
If you do all these things, you may be sheltered by God.
Basically, final judgement can be avoided by seeking the Lord and His righteousness as well as having a humble attitude.
One way to do this is to pray every day. That itself is humbling yourself before the Lord.
Most of us don’t think about praying until we need something. I know that’s me most of the time. I need to get into the habit of praying every day. It’s hard for me to make the time. I have my ritual and routine every day.
Maybe in the morning before I read my blogger’s posts, and my daily news, I should take some time to pray. No, not maybe. I need to make it part of my routine. Starting tomorrow, right?
Are you with me? Do you already do this?
Because the final lesson is that if you depend on God, you will be saved.
Another thing that I’ve thought of so many times while listening to the Message is that it seems that His prophecies have been fulfilled already. I am right! They have and they will be many times over before the Final Judgement! Did you know or realize that?
I have often wondered about say, Noah and the flood many times. My question was well, if this has already happened, maybe the Rapture already happened and we were left behind.
Not true! Yes, this was a prophecy fulfilled, many times throughout history. Hitler, and other others who also destroyed millions of people are other examples.
Who’s to say that wasn’t the event or the fulfillment of another prophecy that we somehow survived and once again got left behind? Well, Scripture says so.
We will know when the Final Judgement is upon us if you read and understand Revelations. The only way to avoid it is what I’ve outlined above. We have to be Believers, we have to seek Him daily, and we have to humble ourselves before the Lord to be included in the Rapture. It’s the only way, so I had better get more involved in prayer and knowing God as well as He knows me.
It doesn’t matter how good I am or how helpful I may be in service to others, I cannot get there by myself and neither can you. We are all sinners and can only be saved by God. He loves us and wants us all sitting beside Him. We have to believe and strive for that unconditional love. I’m still struggling personally with what it means to give myself completely to the Lord, but I am getting stronger every day in my faith. I just need to keep learning, start a daily prayer habit, and not ever fall into the trap of believing I can redeem myself by acts of service or kindness because while those things are good, they are not a free pass or a ticket to Heaven.
Do you have contributions or comments about all this? I’d love to hear them!
