Blowing Rocks Natural Preserve

We thought rain was eminent for the whole day yesterday, so I was surprised to get a break long enough to go eat lunch with friends Carrie and Rick.

Afterwards, they asked if we wanted to go see Blowing Rocks and we agreed to go. The rain held off and I was excited to see how the waves blow up through the rock formations.

The tide was still out, however, so we had the rare opportunity to explore the cool rock formations. I found a few small but pretty shells on the beach too. Here is a gallery of our pics from the day.

Its truly amazing what the water can do!

After that massive effort of walking in the sand back to the parking area, we crossed the street to see the lagoon where sometimes manatees can be seen. They weren’t there, but the pic of the gorgeous house across the water was taken there.

I didn’t photo the shells yet, I’m trying to figure out something creative to do with them. And look at me, the crafter who left her hot glue gun at home. 😑😔

I love the pic over the lagoon that looks like the storm was rolling in on top of us. It wasn’t. We made it back safe and sound. Came home, took our showers and got in comfy clothes early. I hated to miss game night, but we were both beat for some reason… besides, it was Śurvivor night, lol!
I don’t miss that if I can help it!

  1. Sand walking is good for us but it does tire us out.
