SoCS – Rough Day

It’s not Saturday, but I neglected to do yesterday’s SoCS post that Linda gives us every week.

Your Friday prompt for Stream of Consciousness Saturday is: “signa…” Find a word that starts with “signa” and use it in your post. Enjoy!

Dave finally relaxing poolside.

It was a rough day for Dave yesterday and today may be the same.

He spent most of the day under the bus trying to fix the starter on the generator. Why couldn’t it be easy, like the turn signal or something? Oh no. Had to be the generator. He lacks getting one bolt out, which he cannot reach because (I believe they purposely do that so you will have to call a mechanic), to -I assume-pull it out to find the problem he then has to fix!

I don’t know. Because I have no idea how generators work. Maybe once he gets that bolt out he can then get to the starter? I’ll have to ask him. He was talking to all the guys about it and I watched them shake their heads as if to say, “man, that’s a bummer.” They all know that in a motor home, that’s the one thing that’s hard to work on or even get a mobile RV repairman to come fix. They just don’t want to do it!

I have faith in my man, he will find a way. I even offered to get my little butt under there and see if I could reach it, but then, would I be stong enough to then get the bolt off?

He will not call for help unless it’s a last resort. Even the guys around here can’t help because -not being rude, just stating facts-most of them are much larger than Dave.

I was very happy to see the signal that he was done for the day and heading to the pool. (putting up his tools and grabbing a beer). My friend Carrie was too, because she hollered across the street to him that it was “beer thirty” and I saw him nod his head.

Hes gonna be sore today! I rubbed pain cream sll over his shoulders and back last night and he took a couple of Alieve. I pray he feels better this morning.

Happy Daylight Savings Time!

  2. I didn’t know that about generators and RV’s. I’m glad to know because The Mister and I might like to retire to the RV life one day.

I hope Dave feels better soon.

    1. Thanks. The bus won out in the end, looks like we can’t get help until we get back to Ft Worth.

  3. I’ve changed starters on pickup trucks that I owned. It is not a job I’d ever want to do again. Tell Dave he has my sympathy. From someone who has been under there without enough room to move and no easy way to reach that last bolt.

  4. Car troubles can be bad, but they are topped by your sad story. Hope Dave can fix the generator.

    1. He tried again today to no avail. They make it extremely hard to reach that last bolt. It will have to wait till we go back to Texas.

      2. I’m not sure the expense, but I’d rather he had got it fixed here, it’s gonna be a hot ride home now. Oh well, we’ve done it before and survived to tell about it. 😉
