I had such lofty ideas for this post, but now I’m so tired and ready to be home, I can’t remember what I had in mind.
Its been blessedly uneventful, and mostly lovely weather and pretty ok traffic-wise. However, we did have storms to drive through before we got out of Florida, but they weren’t bad. The first night we spent near Tallahassee. It was a dump, but we had power and water.

I picked up that flower because we’d been seeing them all along the roadside. We walked the dogs and they came back in with burrs. 🤬 I pulled the last one out of Brandy’s muzzle today.
The next night we spent in Hattiesburg, MS and it was beautiful! It was our first KOA, down a very long, winding road away from the freeway noise. It had its own lake, ducks, supposedly alligators, and lots of bugs, lol. They wanted to be in your face, too. Must have been a mix of gnats and skeeters. The KOA said we were in Okatoma but the map said Seminary, MS, well I thought we were in Hattiesburg. I’m so confused, lol!
Heres a photo gallery as I’m too tired to post them separately.

I was quite upset that we bypassed Lucedale without stopping but Dave had not told me that we would, so I wasn’t able to make plans. I wanted to see my cousin and also visit the graves of my aunt and uncle that both passed away year before last. I got over it, because I couldn’t do anything about it at that point. I also didn’t post it on Facebook or call anyone to explain. I just left it alone.
Now we are in Baskom, at an RV park that is so new, it also looks like a dump. But it’s being built as we speak, so if we were to come back next year, it would be cool to see what it looks like.

Here’s us in our spot.

We have about three grueling hours (going through Dallas) and then we will be “home” at my brother’s house. We will probably beat him home, as he is in west Texas working all week.
I might get to say hi, and bye to Josh and Shari as they move back from San Antonio and change jobs to one in…Ohio!! I can’t believe he’s going back, but he won’t be close to his daughter. That might be for the best. She is now married to Ray, and they are one little happy family.
I’m anxious to see everyone, and I’ll have a month, but we also have VA appts and we will be rehabbing the bus, so we will do what we can. Right now, just being home will be good enough!
