The Attitude Behind Christmas Part II

Phillippians 2:5-8

Last week we discussed humility and this week’s message is on what it is to be humble.

Jesus had divine attributes because He was and Is God.

Eternal-Hebrews 11-12

All-present- Matthew 28-20

All-knowing- John 16-30

All-powerful- Matthew 28-18

Unchangeable- Hebrews 13-8

The Act of Kinosis

*Jesus surrendered privilege and the independent exercise of some of His attributes.

• Jesus took on human form.

1. We should reject a selfish and demanding attitude.

Hypostatic Union

a. Two distinct natures

b. No mixing of the two

c. Christ Was and Is one person

2. We Should Embrace Transformation that Leads to Selfless and Sacrificial Service

Doing good things because they are the ‘right’ thing to do describes being humble.

Joy to the World!

He rules the world with truth and grace

and makes the nations prove

The glories of His righteousness

and wonders of His love!

Come Lord Come!
