The Birthday Boyz-JJJ-1/10/25

The Boyz-Rick and John Earl (the latter said all together like a southern name) JonEarl. 🤣

It was a poolside party for Rick Simpson & John Earl today, not that anyone could swim, but we played cornhole and feasted on the pie and cake that Ru (Jon’s wife) made. She was Betty Crocker all day yesterday, slaving over the hot stove to make a coconut cream pie, and Rick’s fav, red velvet cake.

What a treat! I snapped a pic alongside Ricks wife, Carrie while the boys were holding their respective desserts. She did a bang up job with both, as all the comments from partygoers exclaimed. I tasted the pie and Dave had a slice of cake (under protest, I might add) which may have not been the best with beer to wash it down. But what do I know, since I don’t drink it?

It was a party mainly for the cool kids 😎 which went perfectly well because we are usually the only ones hanging by the pool no matter the weather. Speaking of that, back home there was three inches of snow on the ground while our temps today were hovered between 43-71. Yet the sun felt good enough for shorts and sleeveless shirts when the sun wasn’t behind the clouds.

I was going to mention the prompt word while I dreamed up this post, when something someone said was repeated about three times, making me say, “There’s an echo out here!” Sadly, I can’t remember now what praise was repeated except “Happy Birthday, boyz!!” (the spelling is what it sounds like when so many voices say it at the same time) It’s really more like Happy Birthday, boyeez. 🤭😉😂

Later, the celebration continues as StevieD is playing and singing music tonight in the clubhouse. It’s still dry January for me, unless someone twists my arm for a birthday shot later (but I doubt it). When I decide to do something, I’m serious. However, it will be all fun anyway, cause I don’t need it to have a good time. Music and dancing? I’m your huckleberry!!

    1. Sounds reasonable! I was wrong btw, my hubby ate the pie. He was sitting out of my direct line of sight, so I missed that.
