A Case Study in Failure-Proverbs 7: 1-27
I hope these latest messages haven’t become too repetitive, but Proverbs can be like that to drive a point home.
This point being having wisdom by illustrating the case of the simpleton.
Had he known the Bible like he should, Solomon wouldn’t have witnessed him heading down the road toward trouble.
We should allow the word of God to be imprinted on our hearts. All scripture is God-breathed. Chokrah is to have such knowledge as you know it like the back of your hand!
Soloman says the simpleton headed straight into the arms of the harlot, who presented herself as a religious person to gain his trust, smacked him right on the lips to tempt him to follow her after she assured him her husband was away.
- We must have a high view of truth and be innocent and not naive in order to avoid catastrophe.
- Sin should become repugnant before the opportunity arises to fail.
Proverbs speaks of Solomon talking to his son, telling him he is the apple of his eye. Loving him with a protective kind of love like that of a husband for his wife.
He talks of having that kind of wisdom by listening to the knowledge of his father so he doesn’t fail like the simpleton did.
Its a very simple lesson but so hard for us to learn. Had we listened to our fathers, read the Bible from the time we were young, known it inside and out like God desires we do, maybe we would never make the mistakes that may have gotten us in trouble.
I’m a work in progress. I study daily, but its a relatively new practice, one I’ve only been serious about for the last couple of years. My aim is to know it like the back of my hand and to practice what I’ve learned, which I try to do.
I pray you all are too. I pray that we all spread the word and the good news to as many as we can. Who knows?
Maybe we could change the future.
Think about that for a minute. Let it sink in. Just because something is prophecy, does that mean it has to come to be?
What if we could get everyone on earth to become believers? Then, we would all be raptured and would not that be the most glorious?!
No need for worry. We would all join God in the battle of Armageddon to defeat Satan, because he would be the only one left!
Something to ponder anyway.
I forgot to ist the scriptures in 1 and 2 verses.
1 is from (7:1-23)
2 is from (7: 24-27)
Have a fabulous Superbowl Sunday if that is your jam, and if not, have a blessed day anyway!
